We have found that one index (usually the search engine) can
find a page and its contents while another index (usually the
navigation index) and the rest of us can not. "404 page not
found"
errors are usually do not mean that a specific web page is lost
- it is just means that we can't find it. Most of the
time when this occurs, something about a page is renamed (such as a letter being
capitalized). Indexes vary in structure. Some indexes are not
case sensitive. While this is the way an index should be, most
indexes remain case sensitive. Hence the "404 page not found"
error is much too common. |
